Stargazing from Nowhere

Hey,

Guess what I'm showing you today? An awesome YA contemporary based around a blogger going undercover to find out more about a band and things end up to get a bit complicated. This book is called "Stargazing from Nowhere", check out the cover and blurb below:
Stargazing from Nowhere
Release Date: July 22, 2013
Kristen Morgan's blog is about to get her into trouble. Deep trouble. Online, she is known as "Stargazer" from the popular Stargazing from Nowhere blog, while in real life she is a regular fifteen-year-old high school student. This online anonymity is quite liberating, allowing her to be completely honest with her readers. Through a twist of fate, Rising Tide, the band she has bashed the most online, ends up in her small town, which sends Kristen into an excited panic.
To continue gathering fresh material for her blog, she poses as a Rising Tide fan. After sneaking into the band's private party, she comes face to face with the band's drummer, Michael Stevens, who happens to be even more gorgeous in person than she cares to admit. Something unexpected also happens to her when she meets him: she becomes giddy, nervous, and inarticulate, leading Kristen to realize that her interest in Michael has nothing to do with her blog, but everything to do with her heart. As Kristen and Michael grow closer, does she have to make a choice between blog or boyfriend...Or is the choice made for her?

It sounds pretty cool, right? That's because it is! The book is full of humor and romance. You can check out my review HERE!

Want to find out more about the book? I had an interview with the authors who answered plenty of my burning questions.

How did you come up with the idea for Stargazing from Nowhere?
We wanted to write something fun and enjoyable that involved the world of celebrity meeting ordinary small town life. We thought it would be interesting and relatable to write about what might happen when a regular girl comes face to face with the celebrity life and her rock star crush.

It was originally a screenplay, as that was our background, but the story felt like it belonged as a YA chick-lit series, so we adapted our own script and turned it into the novel, Stargazing from Nowhere.

Who is your favourite character from the book?
We’d have to say that one of our favourite characters is the main character, Kristen Morgan, because she is very smart and savvy and ambitious. What we love most about her is that she has a vision for her future which is different from the world around her, yet that doesn’t dissuade her or really discourage her--which is a very hard thing for adults to do, much less teenagers.

What’s significant about her to us is that because she is ambitious and wants a better life for herself, she never thinks she is better than other people, yet that is a misconception sometimes with ambitious people. She’s young and hopeful and full of zest for life and sometimes she gets it wrong, and gets herself into trouble, but she is willing to learn from her mistakes.

Favourite Rising Tide member?
We love Michael. Who doesn’t love a charming, sweet and gorgeous rock star? As we were completing the book, we started to really love Bryce, the lead singer, and his rock star attitude. He’s different from Michael, but we feel there’s a lot of potential to develop a separate story line for him too.

When will the next book be available and can you tell us a little of what's in store?
The next book in the series is called Wish Carefully and it should be ready by the end of the year. You’ll see Kristen become even more of a fish out of water, as she navigates further into Michael’s world of fame and gloss. There’s also an unexpected romance brewing that we think will be very enjoyable to our readers.

How many books will there be in this series?
We think four, but it’s not written in stone--there may be five.

What is your favourite book/series?
We’re both huge fans of the Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella as well as Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding. We love protagonists with a good sense of humor, who are flawed, but lovely at heart.

In 10 words, tell everyone why they should read your book.
We hope our book is very relatable to today’s teen and to those who love YA Chick-LIt and celebrity culture, including teens who love bands like One Direction. (We cheated and went over 10 words :) )
